2013 has been an incredible year for me and our family as well. My best friend Lisa became my wife and together we are expecting our first child, a baby girl, in early spring. By the end of this year we will be moving into our brand new home near Snoqualmie, Washington. With so many exciting and life changing events taking place this year, the amount of time I have spent in the field shooting has slowed. Despite that fact, I was still able to produce a number of beautiful images this year and my photography business has grown by incredible amounts.
Many of the images I produced this year have become part of my very popular limited edition collection. Many photographers choose to call their pieces limited editions, but “limit” their prints to a number like 500 or 1000, a number they will likely never come close to reaching. Unless a photographer is highly successful like Peter Lik or Art Wolfe, limited editions with numbers like these hold little to no value for the owner. Other photographers choose to offer “limited” signed prints at a premium, but still offer unlimited, unsigned runs of the same print at a lower cost. This practice is deceitful in my opinion and I choose not to operate this way.
The limited edition prints I offer are runs of either 50, 100 or 200. They are truly limited edition prints. When the respective number has been reached, that piece will never be produced again. My most popular piece to date, Living Lightning, has sold 115 of the 200 piece limited edition this year alone. The price of this piece will rise every 20 prints until 160, then every 10 prints until the collection reaches 200, at which point it will no longer be available. Many of the images I produced in 2013 have already sold between 10 – 20% of their collections already.
My passion for photography has not faded and I will continue to produce new images as regularly as life allows and look forward to being able to continue to share this passion with my family and friends. I want to give my personal thanks to each and every one of you who have supported me and my work in the past year. In turn, you have helped me to support my growing family and I can’t thank you enough. If this is your first time coming across my work, or you are interested in purchasing limited edition pieces from my collection, please take the time to have a look at my website at http://www.aaronreedphotography.com or call me directly anytime to discuss how I can help you fill your empty space with beautiful Pacific Northwest fine art.
The images below were all created in 2013. Many of these images have become favorites of mine. I hope you enjoy them as well.
